4:4:4 Color

Update time: 2024-10-17 22:15:42

4:4:4 is used for an uncompressed signal without color reduction. You get full horizontal and vertical color resolution without quality loss. Those features have helped turn it into an industry standard for movies, TV shows, and designs.

However, 4:4:4 color requires larger storage space and bandwidth because each pixel has a color depth of 24 bits (or more). If you don't need high-quality images, or your device doesn't support 4:4:4 color, you can use some other compressed sampling method, such as 4:2:0 color.

Requirements

Operating system: Windows 7 or later

Graphics card and driver version: NVIDIA graphics card, driver version 445.87 and above

Steps

  1. Start a session.
  2. Tap [Color] in the top menu, then click [4:4:4].

Note:

After turning on the 4:4:4 color, if the host also has an NVIDIA or Intel GPU and the hardware encoding supports H.265 and 4:4:4, the host will use hardware to decode. If the host does not have the above graphics card, it will use software decoding (CPU).
